What exactly are "loops" in a synthetic metal band?

I have seen many bands on myspace with someone in charge of something called loops, can anyone tell me what loops have to do with music???

What exactly are %26quot;loops%26quot; in a synthetic metal band?
In electronic music, a loop is a sample which is repeated. %26quot;Loops are short sections of tracks (probably between one and four bars in length), which you believe might work being repeated.%26quot; A loop is not %26quot;any sample, but...specifically a small section of sound that%26#039;s repeated continuously.%26quot; %26quot;A loop is a sample of a performance that has been edited to repeat seemlessly when the audio file is played end to end.%26quot; Loops may be repeated through the use of tape loops, delay effects, two record players (cutting), digital sampling, or a sampler.
Reply:A loop is a repeating effect either created with a digital delay or an analog tape loop.
Reply:They are probably refering to drum loops, I don%26#039;t know much about synth metal, but if its synth based, they probably use drum loops
Reply:A loop is an electronic playback, usually continuous. Unless the definition has changed...
